Golden Retriever

The Golden Retriever is one of Britain’s most popular dogs, where they’re loved as a family pet and a Gundog. Back in the nineteenth century, a yellow wavy-coated Retriever and a Tweed Water Spaniel produced a litter of four yellow adorable puppies. We know these puppies to be the ancestors of all the Golden Retriever we have today.

How long do golden retrievers live

In fact, Lord Tweedmouth is the one that introduced Goldens as a definite breed. They use this breed to fetch games in the shooting field but can adapt to many roles, including dog work, drug, explosive detection, tracking, and obedience.

The Golden Retriever has a flat or wavy coat with good feathering with a dense water-resisting undercoat, the color any shade of gold or cream but not red or mahogany. The Golden is an active, powerful breed. It is both obedient and intelligent and has a natural affinity for hard work. The Golden is kind, friendly, and confident; it is one of the world’s most popular dogs.

Are golden retrievers smart

This is a dog where you will need to contact a serious hobby breeder to purchase a puppy. The breeder you choose should be a member of some Golden Retriever club or all-breed dog club and involved in some capacity of the dog sport. And they should allow you to see the puppy’s living atmosphere and meet the puppy’s mother and show you all the puppy’s health records and papers of the father and mother’s health-testing results.
